Each year Fresh Start Women’s Foundation holds three signature fundraising events to raise funds to support the operation of the Jewell McFarland
February 2008 The 12th annual Fashion Gala will be held next February at the Arizona Biltmore. The evening will include cocktails, dinner, a silent auction and a fabulous New York-style runway fashion show. March 31, 2007 Once a year Fresh Start publicly recognizes its incredible volunteers, speakers, mentors, event support, administrative support, career coaches, and other valuable volunteer staff. Wednesday, October 3, 2007 Mark your calendars for the Third Annual Fresh Start Breakfast, a community event designed to educate interested persons about the mission and passion of this organization. Presented by the Auxiliary Board of Directors, this is the perfect time for volunteers, staff, board members and friends to invite others to learn more about the organization they love. The program lasts just 60-minutes including breakfast, but don’t let the short time frame confuse you. There is enormous impact in the message presented about the work of the Jewell McFarland Lewis - Fresh Start Women’s Resource Center. It will be the most fulfilling hour you’ll ever spend. August 2007 Clients curious about furthering their education spend a day meeting with educational institutions and scholarship lenders. There will also be opportunities to listen to inspirational speakers and attend workshops on the subject of continued education. The day always holds many surprises for the women who attend. Registration in advance is required.
Fifth Year Anniversary Celebration October 2007 Stop by the Center for light refreshments and to celebrate another incredible year of helping women help themselves. The Center will be open for regular business but the lobby will look festive. Center tours will be available.
Fresh Start Charity Golf Classic November 2007 The Men’s Board has hosted the Golf Classic since 2000. In the last eight years, the group has raised a cumulative total of $1,484,000 to benefit the Foundation’s unique self-help center for women. Financial Fitness Book
In 1996 Fresh Start published a book that helps women understand the basics of finance. In this handy, practical 228-page workbook, women will learn budget basics, how to teach their children about money and identify triggers to keep good credit. “A Woman’s Guide to Taking Charge – Basic Tools for Managing Your Money” is on sale at the Jewell McFarland Lewis-Fresh Start Women’s Resource Center. Cover price is $14.95 but copies are now for sale for just $7.00. |
